Telegram’s Premium tier is now available globally for $ 4.99 / € 5.49 / INR 469 per month. Users wishing to upgrade to Premium will need to update their Telegram app to version 8.8, then go to the app settings and select the new Telegram Premium option.
Telegram says its new subscription service helps support the free version of Telegram while also paying for all the new features in the Premium version of the app.
Here are all the new features available in Telegram Premium:

No advertising
- In some countries, Telegram shows sponsored messages on public and broad channels. These ads help support Telegram’s operating costs but will no longer appear for Telegram Premium subscribers.

4GB file uploads
- With Telegram Premium, subscribers will now be able to send 4GB files, enough space for 4 hours of 1080p video or 18 days of high-quality audio. Free tier Telegram users will also be able to download 4GB files sent to them by Telegram Premium users.

Faster downloads
- Premium subscribers are able to download media and files at the fastest possible speed. You can access everything in your unlimited cloud storage as fast as your network can keep up.

Limits increased
- With Premium you can follow up to 1,000 channels, create up to 20 chat folders with up to 200 chats each, add a fourth account to any Telegram app, block 10 chats in the main list and save up to 10 favorite stickers.
- You can also write a longer bio and include a link to it. Likewise, Premium allows you to add more characters to multimedia captions. Finding the correct way to reply to any message will be easier with up to 400 favorite GIFs. Finally, Premium members can book up to 20 public t.me links, making any group or channel you create stand out with a short, concise link.

Voice to text
- Voice messages can be converted to text for those times when you don’t want to hear, but want to see what it says. You can evaluate the transcripts to improve them.

Unique stickers and reactions
- Dozens of stickers now have impressive full screen animations, which Premium users can send in any chat to add extra emotion and expressive effects visible to all users. This collection of premium stickers will be updated monthly by Telegram artists.
- Premium users also unlock more ways to react to messages, with over 10 new emoji options.

Chat management
- Telegram Premium includes new tools to organize your chat list, such as changing the default chat folder so that the app always opens to a custom folder or, for example, Unread instead of All chats.
- Additionally, subscribers can enable a setting in Privacy & Security to automatically archive and disable new chats, helping to organize even the busiest chat lists.

Animated profile picture
- Premium user profile videos will come alive for everyone throughout the app, including in chats and chat list. Show everyone your new look or show your creativity with a unique looped animation.

- All premium users get a special Premium badge that appears next to their name in the chat list, chat headers and member lists in groups, demonstrating that they help support Telegram and are part of the club it receives first the exclusive features.

- There are new icons that premium users can add to their home screen to better suit their personality or background. Choose from a premium star, night sky or turboplane.
In related news, Telegram also announced that it now boasts over 700 million users worldwide. The company is particularly proud of the milestone as it has never paid to advertise its app and relies solely on word of mouth advice.
Telegram is also pushing over 100 fixes and optimizations to mobile and desktop apps for all users with its latest app update.
