It seems that Spotify Hifi could fall into the near future, if you believe the latest losses.
Spicetify, which is a control line interface tool for the Spotify desktop client, has published multiple images on its social media account that mention this imminent function in the last update V1.2.66.
Spotify 1.2.66 mentions without loss#Newspotify #Spotifylossless #Spotify
Lossless (Pigeon) is mentioned in “Connect to the device” Sidebar and under the artist in NPB (now playing bar)
Lossless will be available up to 24 bit/44.1khz (Flac + Widevine).

To begin with, the most obvious tribute is the presence of a new option within the audio quality drop -down menu, which includes a setting without loss that can provide audio up to 24 bits/44.1khz in Flac. Omboarding for the app also includes audio mentions without loss for Premium subscribers.
In addition to Lossless, it seems that Spotify also has some new audio features in the sleeve, which, if combined with a compatible pair of headphones, claims to offer “cleaner and natural sound”. Dig further in the code also revealed mentions of space audio without further processing.
What is not visible in these screenshots is what technology is used for space audio, as specific codecs are not mentioned as Dolby Atmos. It is possible that the characteristic of the most clean and natural natural sound it could use Spatial audio technology owner of Spotify which works only with selected headphones. Furthermore, there is also no mention of high resolution audio, since sampling rates seem to complete 44.1 kHz of CD quality.
Space audio is mentioned in the code, however, I don’t think it is Dolby Atmos. I don’t even see the user interface or the functionality regarding space audio, only that it exists in the code that interacts with the player, so don’t wait for it soon pic.twitter.com/etwm7m1lbw

Of course, this was excavated with the help of the override status function in the Spicetify tool and none of them are accessible in the current app. Even with the tool, you can only see the mentions of the new features and not to use them actually.
Spotify has announced its hifi function without loss until the beginning of 2021. While the company did not provide a date, it was clear that the function was imminent and most likely it reached a higher level of prices than the normal prize. So, Apple decided to rain on the Spotify fashion show and launched its audio function without loss, complete with audio audio and high resolution Dolby atmos, without additional costs.
This probably removed the wind from Spotify’s sails while the company immediately dropped all the talks of the hifi function and adopted radio silence. It seems that he was completely caught off guard and has since tried to formulate a practical plan to finally launch the service. It is possible that the company can still end up charging more for the HIFI plan, but over the years we have heard that there will be further content included to justify it and the company has built a library of content outside the music.
For now, we still don’t have an exact date, so this function could fall tomorrow, two months later or never.
