It’s official: the global launch of Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro + is set for January 5th. This is the first Redmi with a 200MP camera and only the second in the Xiaomi family after the 12T Pro.

Last week Xiaomi teased that the Redmi Note 12 series will soon be launched in India, but did not provide an exact date. Furthermore, it is not clear which models will arrive: the Pro+ is definitely in the list, the Redmi Note 12 and the Redmi Note 12 Pro are yet to respond. There is also the Redmi Note 12 Discovery, the Pro+ version with 210W charging, but that could remain exclusive to China.
Xiaomi’s Redmi Note series has proven to be very successful. It just passed the 300 million units shipped mark, of which 72 million went to India. Either way, new models are sure to add to the tally, but we’ll have to wait a few weeks before we get details like pricing and ship dates. A staggered release is possible, that’s what happened with the Note 11 series earlier this year.
