Last August vivo launched the Y21 and now here we are a year later waiting for a successor. We won’t have to wait long, though, apparently, as a live Y22 prototype (not to be confused with the 2013 Y22) has just been spotted in the Geekbench database.

This revealed that it is powered by MediaTek’s Helio G85 SoC, unlike the Y21 which had to make do with the Helio P35. Like its predecessor, the Y22 has 4GB of RAM. The Y22 obviously runs Android 12 and its model number is V2207, as established in the past by various certification agencies.

vivo Y22 stops by Geekbench before its official launch

Previous rumors said the Y22 would have a 6.44-inch 720×1600 LCD touchscreen with a base refresh rate of 60Hz, an 8MP selfie cam, and a 5,000mAh battery with 18W charging support. also a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and a water drop notch.

Clearly the Y22 is expected to become official shortly, probably by the end of this month. We will let you know more about it as soon as new information emerges.
