Xiaomi has unleashed the new 17 series of flagships this week (and the duo 15t, but we will save it for another week). This year there are three models: an Xiaomi 17 vanilla that takes the place of the Xiaomi 15, an Xiaomi 17 pro that has the same size of 6.3 “but offers more premium features (best camera, secondary screen) and the large model that is now called Xiaomi 17 Pro Max.
The Xiaomi 17 starts at the same price as Xiaomi 15 last year. This is no longer the best flagship of 6.3 “Xiaomi, however – it would be the professional, who is about 10% more expensive. Finally, the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max drops the basic model of 256 GB and makes the 512 GB model a little more expensive than a 512 GB Xiaomi 15 (6.73”) the cost of last year. Xiaomi 17 Pro Max becomes larger and now presents a 6.9 “display (increased by 6.73” on Xiaomi 15 Pro). It also has the largest battery of the 7,500 mAh trio. As for the display, it is a 1-120Hz LTPO panel with 3,500 peak brightness nit. The rear display is only slightly larger than the one on the Pro with a 2.9 “and 976 x 596px diagonal resolution.
Xiaomi 17 Pro Max
The main camera uses the same 950L of 50 mp fusion light sensor of the Pro. Even the ultra wide 102 ° 50 MP camera is the same. The 5x telephoto module is better: it has a larger 1/2.0 “sensor and a brighter f/2.6 opening (vs. f/3.0 on the small professional). It still has a tele-macro capacity, although at a distance of 30 cm.

Xiaomi 17 is more than an Xiaomi 15 update compared to 17 Pro. However, it does not have a screen on the back. Even if you think it is an expedient, this model presents cameras very similar to its predecessor-50 MP Light Fusion 950 (1/1.31 “), 50 MP 102 ° ultra-wide and a 50 MP telephoto lens with the length of Vandilla boastors. The Xiaomi 17 is on the small side of the Android flagships-essentially the same size as 15. It has a 6.3 “display, a 12-bit OLED panel with a 1-120Hz refresher frequency (LTPO) and a higher 3,500 Nits peak brightness. It is an excellent display, but it is only a slight update on the previous model.
The only unequivocal update is the battery: although they measure the same 8.1 mm and weighs the same 191g, this phone has a huge 7,000 mAh battery. There are 700 mAh more than the 17 Pro and 1,600 mAh more than the Xiaomi 15. And supports 100 W wired and 50 W wireless charging for start -up. The worst part of this phone seems to be that 17 Pro is only about 10% more expensive.
