If you are wondering if the Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leica Edition (or Xiaomi 17 Ultra by Leica) will be destined for international markets, we have some good news for you. The answer is yes, and this was recently confirmed by its certification in Thailand by NBTC. This revealed that it will however be offered under a different name: it will be called Leica Leitzphone powered by Xiaomi.
It’s a long sentence but it makes sense: there have been three previous Leitz Phones so far, all exclusive to Japan, and so Leica appears to have given up on that line and replaced it with its own-branded version of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra. In case you’re confused about the name, Ernst Leitz was the founder of Leica, and the company name itself is a combination of his last name and the word “camera.”

Xiaomi 17 Ultra from Leica
Xiaomi’s Leica Leitzphone has the model number 25128PNA1G, as revealed by the aforementioned certification, and a prototype with this model number has now been spotted in Geekbench’s AI database. This confirms that it is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC just like its Chinese counterpart and will have 16GB of RAM. Unsurprisingly, it will run Android 16 from day one, no doubt with Xiaomi’s HyperOS 3 on top of that.

The Leica Edition Xiaomi 17 Ultra is more expensive than the regular Xiaomi 17 Ultra in China, and so we assume it will be the same in other markets as well. For what it’s worth, the price of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra was leaked recently. It is said to become official for global markets on February 28.
