We put Xiaomi 15 through our rigorous DXOMark camera test suite to measure its performance as photos, videos and zooms from the point of view of the final user. This article disappears the way the device went to a variety of tests and several cases of common use and is intended to highlight the most important results of our tests with an extract of the acquired data.

In the tests of the DXOMark camera, Xiaomi 15 offered a performance of the all -round camera, making it a solid choice for both photography enthusiasts and videography. Xiaomi 15 is provided with a triple camera system, which covers the focal lengths from Ultra wide medium range canvases, but must be satisfied with the camera module along the long model of the Pro model.
In our photographic tests, the installation of the Xiaomi 15 camera has obtained excellent results, providing a wide dynamic range, low levels of noise and bright colors. However, some areas of improvement remain. Our testers have observed obvious casting cast in low light conditions and the limited field depth has difficulty maintaining all subjects in groups of groups clearly focused. There have also been some contrast problems in extreme HDR scenes and we noticed some inconsistencies through consecutive shots during the recovery in Burst mode.
Despite the simplest canvas configuration than 15 Pro, the camera has provided beautiful tenders, with rather high detail levels. Ultra wide provided a solid image quality at the opposite end of the zoom spectrum, but had slightly higher noise levels than the best in class. The quality of the overall video was also good, with good exposure, despite some slight instability. Some color casts have been observed in internal and low -light video movies.

Information on the photographic tests of DXOMark Camera
For the score and analysis, DXOMark engineers acquire and evaluate over 2,600 test images both in controlled laboratory environments and in external, internal natural scenes and in low light conditions, using the predefined settings of the camera. The photographic protocol is designed to take into account the main cases of use and is based on typical shooting scenarios, such as portraits, family and landscape photography. The evaluation is performed by visually inspecting images compared to a reference of natural scenes and performing objective measurements on the images of graphs captured in the laboratory in different lighting conditions from 1 to 1,000+ lux and color temperatures of 2,300ka 6,500k.
The Xiaomi 15 Ultra did well in the DXOMark photographic tests, but some areas of improvement remained. Like the tip device 15 Ultra, the Xiaomi 15 was able to capture fixed images with a delay of the zero shutter and a reliable autofocus. Our testers have observed only a handful of automatic autofocus failures in all light conditions, but they also noticed that autofocus performance in low light conditions could be somehow slow than the best devices of the class. In addition, the focus was quite stable among the consecutive shots, reliably blocking the subject. On the negative side, the rather limited depth of field of the main camera meant that the subjects Cons the background of the scene could be blurred.
We have also observed color inaccuracies in some scenes in low light conditions. In some difficult backlit scenes, our testers have noticed a low contrast on the subjects, in addition to the artifacts of flashes of the lenses. The noise of the image may be slightly intrusive, especially when capturing images in low light conditions.

Exposure and color are the key attributes for technically good images. For the exhibition, the main attribute assessed is the brightness of the main subject through various use cases such as landscape, portrait or dead life. Other factors evaluated are the contrast and the dynamic interval, e.g. The ability to make the details visible in brilliant and dark areas of the image. Repeatability is also important because it demonstrates the camera’s ability to provide the same rendering when you take several images of the same scene.
For the color, the quality attributes of the analyzed image are rendering skin tone, white balance, color shading and repeatability. For the rendering of the color tone and the skin, we penalize the unnatural colors but we respect the choice of the signature of the color by a manufacturer.

Autofocus tests focus on the accuracy of the focus, on the repeatability of focus, on the shooting delay and on the depth of the field. The shooting delay is the difference between the time when the user presses the acquisition button and the time when the image is actually taken. It includes the focus speed and the device ability to acquire images at the right time, what is called “zero lag of the shutter” capacity. The goal is to reproduce the portrait photography comparable to a socket with a DLSR and a large opening. In our tests, we discovered that the Bokeh Xiaomi 15 mode was quite similar to that of the Ultra Xiaomi 15. Information on the Zoom tests of the DXOMark camera
Dxomark engineers acquire and evaluate over 400 images of tests in controlled laboratory environments and in external natural scenes, internal and in low light conditions, using the default settings of the camera and pinch the zoom to various zoom zoom factors long -range zoom. The evaluation is carried out by visually inspecting the images compared to a reference of natural scenes and performing objective measurements of the graphic magicians captured in the laboratory in different conditions from 20 to 1000 lux and color temperatures from 2300k to 6500k.
Tele Zoom is the place where the performance of the Xiaomi camera 15 differ more from the older brother 15 ultra. While the top model is provided with two dedicated cameras, the Xiaomi 15 must be satisfied with a single 60 mm telephoto lens. Despite the simplest canvas configuration, in our tests, it has provided rather good image details on telephoto lens, both on the telely lens and when digital zoom is applied to the image of the main camera. In addition, the ultra wide camera behaved well, capturing a good quality of the general image. Having said that, it remained slightly behind the best devices of the class, especially in terms of image noise.

Dxomark engineers acquire and evaluate more than 2.5 hours of videos in controlled laboratory environments and in natural scenes of poor lighting, internal and external, using the default settings of the camera. The evaluation consists in visually inspecting the natural videos taken in various conditions and the execution of objective measurements on the videos of the graphs recorded in the laboratory in different conditions from 1 to 1000+ lux and color temperatures of 2,300ka 6,500k.
In video mode, we tested Xiaomi 15 with 4K resolution and a 30 fps frame speed that provided the best overall results. With these settings, the video exposure was good, despite some slight instability. Our testers have also noticed some launches of inaccurate colors during the recording of movies in internal scenes or conditions of poor lighting.
The autofocus video was accurate and provided fluid transitions. The video noise was generally well controlled in the intense light and in the internal scenes, but it could be more intrusive in low light conditions. In conditions Dimage The level of the recorded details was low, despite the 4K video resolution.
