Fans have been waiting patiently for Spider-Man to join Marvel’s Avengers after it was announced as a PlayStation-exclusive addition over a year ago. Now, Spider-Man will finally enter Marvel’s Avengers for PS4 and PS5 on November 30 in the Patch 2.2 update. Publisher Square Enix and developer Crystal Dynamics announced the news on the official Marvel’s Avengers blog.
With the arrival of Spider-Man comes the Hero event with great power that allows you to experience the story of the web launcher “through unlockable challenges intertwined in the Avengers Initiative”. Here is the official summary of the event by Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics:
“Peter Parker unveils AIM’s new plan to acquire the technology that could make their Synthoid army unstoppable and total domination inevitable. He must work with the Avengers to stop this looming threat and forge a tentative friendship with Ms. Marvel and Black Widow while keeping his identity hidden from him. Being a hero used to working alone, he struggles with the new dynamics of teamwork. Will he join the Avengers full time or will he remain independent in his fight against AIM? “
The Patch 2.2 update will also bring us Marvel’s Avengers’ first major raid, Discordant Sound, which will allow four players to battle Black Panther villain Klaw.
There will also be more changes in the patch. You can expect maximum power levels to go up from 150 to 175, and you will now have the option to upgrade equipment. Speaking of gear, there will be a ton of great gear in the new Klaw Raid and there will be new weekly objectives that you can complete for each hero. Patch 2.2 will also introduce a new Expeditions feature that helps you earn unique cosmetics.

The news of patch 2.2 comes just days after Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics removed paid XP boosts from Marvel’s Avengers, citing negative feedback on the perception that it made the game pay-to-win.
