If you own a PlayStation 5, you can now download a free performance update for The Last of Us Part 2. This update pushes the game to a staggering 60 frames per second.
After downloading the performance update, gamers can choose between settings for 30fps and 60fps. After downloading the 1.08 patch for the game, you can select from frame rates in the Display Options menu. This is in addition to the existing PS5 enhancements to the game that help improve load time and resolution.
How good are the improvements, though? Many gamers have found that playing on PS5 is a quantum leap over playing on PS4 or PS4 Pro. The increase in fps alone makes it feel like a whole new game.
This may just be the tip of the iceberg for The Last of Us Part 2 on PS5. There are strong rumors that the PS5 may be getting its own version of the game. And developer Naughty Dog’s interest in the PS5’s capabilities could lead to more updates or even some DLC in the future.
