Oh yeah. Big time. Somewhere around 70 house plants. Gave up on vegetables this year. Became tired of battling the squirrels that insist on destroying everything... What about you?
This year, I also gave growing tomatoes and lettuce a try – and it actually went pretty well. The only downside was that everything seemed to ripen at the same time, both tomatoes and lettuce. And not just at my place, but also at the neighbors’, whom I’d usually be happy to share with
So, you could say we had a “lettuce and tomato festival” in the neighborhood!
What does Fabi learn from this? Next year’s plan is to plant in a way so that things ripen one after the other – even though I work with much smaller quantities than sbenny
Oh, and for a little laugh: I also tried planting in a “raised bed.” The upside: Parents can reach better, and snails have a harder time. The downside: If a snail manages to get in, then it’s basically paradise for them
And: Swiss snails love kohlrabi
