Choice of Broadsides drops you at the helm of a seafaring vessel and hands you the orders. This is a text-driven interactive novel where every decision changes the course of your career: from quiet merchant runs to close-quarters fighting, from careful diplomacy in foreign ports to full broadsides exchanged at sea. Your choices shape not only the fate of your ship, but the lives of the crew who depend on you.
You will weigh tactical decisions in battle, decide how to outfit and manage your vessel, and handle the day-to-day demands of leadership. Choose whether to focus on seamanship, gunnery, or cunning; balance risk and reward while protecting your reputation; and decide how far you are willing to go for prize money, glory, or survival. The consequences can be immediate or ripple through long arcs of the story.
The narrative adapts to your play style. Branching paths lead to different alliances, rivals, and outcomes, giving strong replay value. The game emphasizes character-driven choices and the moral shades that come with command: what you sacrifice to keep a crew alive, how you respond to mutiny or diplomacy, and where you draw moral lines when law and profit conflict.
