The Google Pixel 6a that went on sale yesterday is receiving its first software update. However, it doesn’t introduce any new features for the Pixel 6a and only increases the Android security patch level on the smartphone until June 2022.
Considering how Samsung has already started rolling out the August 2022 patch, we would have liked to see Google release the July 2022 patch for the Pixel 6a. However, August isn’t far off, so we might see Google skip the July patch and release the August security update for the Pixel 6a soon.
That said, the Pixel 6a software update is rolling out in stages and it will take at least a couple of weeks for all units to receive it. It comes with the following build numbers:
If you don’t receive the update notification on your Pixel 6a after completing its setup, you can manually check it by going to the smartphone page Settings System System update menu.
