Earlier in the week, we showed you a video focused on the drop and scratch tests of Google’s latest and greatest, the Pixel 8 Pro. And today we’re back with a slightly different kind of “durability test,” this time from JerryRigEverything.

As usual with Zach’s videos, there is a screen scratch test with no unexpected results. Then the metal frame is subjected to a scratch test and it turns out that it is indeed made of metal. The display has a permanent burn mark after being subjected to an open flame for approximately 17 seconds, then switches to the main event.

The bending test. Perhaps surprisingly, since it appears to have the antenna lines positioned identically to its predecessor, the Pixel 7 Pro, the Pixel 8 Pro remains completely rigid. The Pixel 7 Pro didn’t snap in half like other phones, but it became too flexible to fit comfortably under the camera visor. The Pixel 8 Pro is much improved, with very little flexibility. So despite the similar appearance on the outside, there are definitely some welcome changes to the internal structure.
