Update: It doesn't work for me either. Keeps asking to update the game even clicking on the X doesn't work.

Doesn't work - attempts to force you to update to latest version, no way to bypass. Tried the other version you linked, version 1.5.3, but that one no longer works either. It starts with the welcome from professor mcgonagall, then crashes, then when trying to launch again shows a message to update. If you click the X or cancel, it shows an error saying you're unable to play the limited beta.
