Honor’s Magic5 Pro is one of the major flagship smartphones launched this year and during our review process we were really impressed with its well-rounded feature set. Its 50MP triple camera setup delivered outstanding captures in all shooting scenarios during our tests, and now the brand is sharing some behind-the-scenes details about the Magic5 Pro’s camera development process and how it was tested in the labs. of research and development of Honor.
Honor’s dedicated photo lab can test different shooting scenes, including lighting conditions, shutter speed and distance. Honor has embarked on an 18-month development process for its Honor Image Engine that includes new source code and algorithm optimizations for the Magic5 Pro cameras. Honor has also worked closely with Qualcomm to leverage the manufacturer’s Snapdragon AI engine of chips, resulting in larger data cache ranges.
Honor has trained its AI network with more than 270,000 images in tandem with improved algorithms for motion detection, object recognition and scene recognition. Honor’s press release also boasts of the faster autofocus speed on the Magic5 Pro, which has increased by 245%, compared to last year’s Magic4 Pro.
