After several reports of camera specs and samples, Huawei has finally revealed the launch date of its P60 series. The new flagships will be launched on March 23 at 14:30 Beijing time and will also be joined by the Mate X3 foldable phone and several other new products.
Poster of the Huawei event on March 23rd
Huawei’s official post on Weibo doesn’t divulge any further details, although we can expect more teasers to appear in the days leading up to the event. Based on the latest rumors, the Huawei P60 series will consist of at least two devices: a vanilla P60 model and a P60 Pro.
The Huawei P60 Pro is expected to carry a pair of 50MP camera modules with a Sony IMX888 main sensor and an IMX858 module for ultrawide. We’re also expecting a 64MP OmniVision OV64B sensor with 3.5x magnification. The vanilla P60 phone is expected to launch with a 52MP (IMX789) main camera along with a 50MP (IMX858) ultrawide and 16MP (IMX351) telephoto module. Both phones are expected to launch with a Qualcomm 8-series chipset, presumably an LTE-only variant of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC.
