Huawei is expected to announce the P60 series in China next week, and company accounts on Weibo continue to post official teasers and videos of the new flagship P60 Pro’s zoom capabilities.
According to Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei CBG, the new phone will be able to take a photo with the sun in the frame, while keeping foreground details properly lit and visible.

The phone will also take detailed photos in almost complete darkness where the object is backlit. An official video also hinted that the phone would be capable of taking incredibly detailed images of the moon which, in theory, would be able to circumvent the laws of optics and physics.
Setting aside the moonshot claims, Huawei is expected to bring a new type of periscope lens that would be responsible for even better night photos. The new OV64B sensor array will be RYYB, removing the green pixel, which, in theory, would allow more light into dimly lit photos. It will come with a 6P lens behind Prism OIS and offer 3.6x zoom, a patent disclosed by CNIPA.
