Imagine you have a time machine—but with one big catch:
It only works once for a round trip. You can travel to another time, but only once, and then the machine is gone forever.
So here’s my question for you:
Would you use this one and only chance to travel to the past? Maybe to witness a historic event, reunite with a loved one, or relive a special moment in your life?
Or would you rather venture into the future, to see how the world has changed, how your descendants are doing, or what amazing technologies and surprises await us?
And no, this isn’t about grabbing a sports almanac to win bets
.
I’m curious about the personal, emotional, or philosophical reasons behind your choice.
I’ve thought about this a lot myself:
For me, the answer is clear—I’d travel to the past. There are so many moments with my grandparents that I’d love to experience again. Just sitting around the kitchen table, hearing their stories, sharing laughs, and spending time together. Those are memories I truly miss and would cherish reliving.
What about you?
Which time would you choose and why?
Are there people you want to see again, questions you want to ask, or events you want to witness? Or does the future call to you—and if so, what would you hope to discover there?
