After months of rumors and teasers, Motorola has gone ahead and announced its next generation of foldable phones in China. There’s the flagship Razr 40 Ultra with its large 3.6-inch display and Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. We’ve also gotten a more affordable entry with the Razr 40 which draws a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC and a less spacious 1.5-inch cover.
Moto Razr 40 Ultra
The main feature of Moto Razr 40 Ultra is its 3.6-inch external display. This is the largest coverage screen on a folding clamshell to date and features a 10-bit AMOLED panel with 1066 x 1056 px resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate, and Gorilla Glass Victus for protection. It comes with loads of interactive wallpapers and bespoke clock faces, but it’s not just about the looks.
As with previous Razr foldable devices, you’re free to do just about anything on the cover screen: watch a YouTube video, get navigation details in Google Maps, reply to an email without opening the home screen.
The Razr 40 Ultra features a 6.69-inch FHD+ LTPO AMOLED main display with a 165Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support, and a maximum brightness of 1,400 nits.
