Google released Android 13 almost two months ago and today OnePlus has a big new Android update to send to the OnePlus 7, 7 Pro, 7T and 7T Pro. But it’s not Android 13, we’re talking instead about Android 12, a version that already has more one year. Better late than never?
The Chinese company started beta testing Android 12 for the aforementioned four phones a few weeks ago, and now those who were part of that process are starting to receive the final update. This means that even people who weren’t in the beta group are expected to receive the Android 12 update in the coming days and weeks.
The build is labeled H.28 for OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro and F.16 for OnePlus 7T and 7T Pro. The update comes with the August 2022 security patch level, which is a joke at this point, being already two months ago.
The new software arrives as OxygenOS 12.1 and represents a complete visual overhaul for these models, bringing a bunch of new things, including a three-level dark mode, new style options for Cards in Shelf, the new Smart Battery Engine that uses algorithms for extended battery life, new app icons, general system-wide optimization of text and color presentation, support for spam MMS blocking, and HyperBoost end-to-end frame rate stabilizer for gaming.
