The Samsung Galaxy A34 5G we’ve been hearing about for over six months is said to have an Exynos 1280 SoC at the helm. But that probably won’t be the case since the smartphone appeared on Geekbench with a different chip.

The Samsung Galaxy A34 5G, sports model code SM-A346B, is listed in the benchmark database with MT6877V/TTZA, which we know to be MediaTek’s Dimension 1080 SoC. It is based on the 6 nm process and consists of eight CPU cores: 2 Cortex-A78 clocked up to 2.6 GHz and 6 Cortex-A55 clocked up to 2 GHz.

The Galaxy A34 5G that has gone through Geekbench runs Android 13 and has 6GB of RAM on board. It scored 786 and 2,294 points respectively in Geekbench’s single and multi-core tests. That’s less than what the Dimension 1080-powered Realme 10 Pro+ achieved in our tests, but that could be because the phone is a pre-production unit and you can expect better performance with the retail version.

Rumors claim that the Samsung Galaxy A34 5G will be similar to the Galaxy A33 5G, except it won’t feature a depth sensor and the three rear cameras won’t be housed within a camera island.
