That being said, we take security and safety of apps here serious and scan them before release.

Unfortunately, with so many trusted security companies accepting corporation bribes to lie to the public it becomes a "cry wolf" situation where we can no longer trust the reports.
The real danger is when malware does exist and isn't reported, like analytics used as spyware and approved on Google's Playstore, or other malicious code that we ignore because security companies lied in the past.

Further, examining the permissions of this mod to that of the original app, there are 52 unchanged.
While I would personally disable many, the point here being that no additional permissions have been added to control the mic, camera, scan for installed apps, remove apps, ect as seen with actual spyware infected apps.

Finally, the apps code itself is broken down and scanned with nothing obvious detected.

Still, nothing is 100% and security is an illusion.

This is Spotify X, an open source version with X and Spot and community additions. It's version numbering and package are for Spotify X, not Spotify original.
