OnePlus is looking to enter the Android tablet market, according to a rumor from credible sources. The company has the patent for the name “OnePlus Pad” and now the report from Max Jambor on Twitter said the debut of the tablet is expected for next year.

OnePlus’ venture into tablets isn’t an unexpected move: the once-flagship company is now a down-to-earth brand with devices in multiple price categories. Tapping into the slate market is the next logical step for a company that also has wearables like smartwatches and TWS earbuds.
The bigger question is whether this upcoming OnePlus Pad will be a completely new device or will be a rebranded Oppo tablet. It’s not impossible to see the Snapdragon 870 and 8,360mAh Oppo Pad under a new name, but we’ll keep hoping for a completely new device.
