Google has already released a number of beta builds of the upcoming Android 14 version, and other manufacturers have joined in, but not Samsung. Or rather, Not yet.
According to a new rumor, the Korean company plans to release the first beta build of One UI 6, its skin based on Android 14, in the third week of July.
That would be a few weeks earlier than when the first beta of One UI 5 appeared last year, which can only mean good things for the release timeline of the final stable version later this year.
Samsung was apparently waiting for the Google betas to reach “platform stability” to start developing One UI 6 on top. That “platform stability” milestone was achieved with Android 14 Beta 3, which was released last week.
Samsung already started updating its apps with One UI 6 support a few weeks ago. The One UI 6 beta will reach the Galaxy S23 family first, but then it will gradually spread to other devices as well.
