Say hello to the Redmi 12, Xiaomi’s just announced entry-level phone with good specs at a good price.

Let’s open it from the box, then we’ll examine both. Similar to entry-level Galaxy phones, the Redmi 12 comes with a USB cable, but it also manages to slip into a case. There’s no charger, however, so you’ll need to supply your own – the phone supports 18W charging.

Let’s go back to the specifics. The Redmi 12 has a large 6.79-inch IPS LCD with 1080x2460px resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. The panel is vibrant and gets surprisingly bright.

The SoC is a 12nm MediaTek Helio G88 paired with 8GB of RAM. There’s also 256GB of storage. The battery is plentiful at 5,000mAh.

Finally, there are three cameras on the back: a 50MP wide angle, an 8MP ultra wide angle and a 2MP depth sensor. There’s an 8MP selfie camera on the other side.
