Five Nights at Freddy’s creator Scott Cawthon revealed Wednesday on Reddit that Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach has been postponed to the end of 2021. This is the game’s second delay, but Cawthon is offering players a free game to apologize.
“As you all know, Security Breach was originally slated to come out in late 2020, but as we continued to work on it and kept adding it, it kept getting bigger and bigger and needed more time to finish,” Cawthon wrote. “And now, once again, I’ve decided to put more time and money into making sure it’s finished correctly, and that means a late 2021 version instead of an early 2021 version as I originally intended. worth it!”
However, Cawthon revealed that he has released a free game on GameJolt to appease disappointed fans. “I know it’s disappointing, but I didn’t want you all to leave empty-handed, so I created something for the community,” she wrote.
Cawthon’s game is called Security Breach: Fury’s Rage. It’s modeled after classic side scrolling fighting games like Streets of Rage. It is free to download and play now.
Unfortunately, Five Nights at Freddy’s is simply the latest series of games to face delays and setbacks related to COVID-19. But players can certainly agree that ditching a free game to apologize is a class move. Fury’s Rage will keep us busy for a while.
