Apple will soon be dropping iTunes from its latest platform: Windows. Microsoft has announced that it is adding preview versions of three new Apple apps — Apple Music, Apple TV and Apple Devices — as part of the Windows 11 Insider Preview build.
Apple Music will cater to a Windows user’s local music library and give them access to the paid Apple Music service.

Apple Music
Apple TV will include Apple’s TV+ subscription with original content, as well as content from Paramount+, AMC+, Showtime, Starz and more. You’ll also find your iTunes purchased movies here, and you can rent new releases.

AppleTV
Apple devices will sync with Apple devices (iPhone, iPad, iPod), as well as local backup and restore and emergency software updates – this feature has been moved to the macOS Finder when you connect an iPhone.

Apple devices
That leaves podcasts and books as the only significant iTunes features left out by Apple Music, TVs, and devices. It’s unclear whether Apple will later add them to new apps or plan a fourth app just for them.
Microsoft warns that installing any of these new preview apps will break iTunes on Windows, so keep that in mind if you have a large and curated local library. Uninstalling the new apps will allow you to install iTunes again.
