Xiaomi is apparently already working on two other high-end phones besides the 12 Ultra which should finally be announced next month. We are talking about the 12S and 12S Pro, the first of which has already appeared on Geekbench and also in a practical image.

That image revealed the Leica branding for the camera, and today a new rumor sheds some light on other details. Information from a usually reliable leakster states that the 12S will launch with three RAM / storage combinations: 8/128 GB, 8/256 GB and 12/512 GB. The 12S will be powered by Qualcomm’s recently unveiled Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC.

Details of Xiaomi 12S, 12S Pro are leaking

The 12S Pro will presumably have two versions: one with the same chipset as the 12S, the other with the MediaTek Dimensity 9000. The former has the same RAM / storage variants as the 12S, while the latter will only be available in two options: 8/256 GB and 12/512 GB. Last but not least, the Snapdragon iteration of the 12S Pro is said to feature 120W fast charging, just like the 12 Pro does.

It’s unclear how much upgrade the 12S and 12S Pro will be over the non-S models, so far they appear to be minor iterations created to take advantage of the hype of the Leica partnership and not much more. But let’s hold back the final judgment until we see more complete losses.
