Android 14 was supposed to have 4 betas. So Google decided 5 was the appropriate number. Then released a last minute bug fix for the fifth beta. And today we get an even more last minute bug fix, if you can call it that.

Ladies and gentlemen, we present Android 14 Beta 5.2. It will be released today for all devices enrolled in the Android Beta program. Like Beta 5.1, released exactly one week ago, it’s all about fixing bugs left and right.

Google releases yet another Android 14 beta with even more bug fixes

Here’s the changelog straight from Google itself:

  • Fixed various issues that sometimes caused devices to stall on reboot.
  • Fixed issues that could disrupt cellular connectivity for devices using E-UTRAN New Radio – Dual Connectivity (ENDC) when those devices were connected via 5G NR low-band frequencies.
  • Fixed an issue on Pixel Fold and Pixel Tablet devices that caused the fingerprint sensor to stop responding in some cases.
  • Fixed an issue on Pixel Fold devices that caused Perfect tracking data to be incomplete.
  • Fixed an issue on Pixel Fold devices with stuttering animations when viewing or tapping the notification for a call in progress.
  • Fixed an issue on Pixel Fold devices that sometimes caused the System UI to crash after using the fingerprint sensor.
  • Fixed an issue on Pixel Fold devices that sometimes caused the screen to flicker briefly when opening the device.
  • Fixed an issue on Pixel Tablet devices that sometimes caused a color bar to appear or flicker after unlocking the device.
  • Fixed an issue on Pixel Tablet devices that caused the system to play incorrect sounds when docking or undocking the device.

As always, the launch may take a few days to reach all eligible devices (i.e. Pixel 4a 5G or later). If you have one and would like to add it to the beta program to test this release, go here. After that, you will receive this build as an update over the air.

Next stop? Well, it’s Beta 5.3, Beta 6 or the stable release. Let’s hope for the second, but we’ll see.
