Apple has suspended work on iOS 18, macOS 15, watchOS 11 and tvOS 18, Mark Gurman revealed in his report for Bloomberg. The development delay was necessary as the software team was tasked with fixing bugs in the latest generation software for iPhones, iPads, wearables, TVs and Macs.
Cupertino employees were told to stop working on future releases, and engineers had to refocus on fixing current flaws and improving software performance.

Craig Federighi, Apple’s senior vice president and head of software, has worked in recent years to make sure software bugs are fixed, meaning some future products must be discontinued. Sources who spoke to Gurman said the software engineering team under Federighi found too many bugs that had been overlooked during internal testing.
The pause will only last several days, and expectations are that Apple will be back on track with development by the end of this week. The first M1 versions of iOS 18, iPadOS 18 and macOS 15 were completed last month, but further development has been put on hold.
iOS 17.4 is expected in March as the last major update for current versions.
