Infinix has introduced a new step in its quest for ultra-fast charging: 260W wired and 110W wireless All-Round FastCharge. The new solution can charge a battery from 0 to 25% in one minute via cable and can reach 100% in less than 8 minutes. In wireless mode, 0 to 100% can be reached in 16 minutes.

The 260W standard comes just nine months after Infinix introduced the 180W Thunder Charge. The new technology builds on that, upgrading from a dual 8C battery to a single 12C battery with a 4-pump circuit design that identifies intelligently adjusts power requirements and allocates the number of charge pumps needed.
According to the official press release, the charging efficiency is 98.5%, and the 4,400mAh test battery could maintain 90% of its initial capacity after 1,000 cycles. The charger uses a combination of GaN material and AHB circuit infrastructure with high power density, small size, and safe charge control. The cable is also important and Infinix has developed one capable of carrying a current of up to 13A to guarantee charging at 260W.

The 110W wireless charging uses small and sensitive coils tailored with different architectures: there are smaller but wider coils in the same space, reducing the internal resistance and subsequently lowering the temperature rise of the phone while charging.
There’s also a bespoke 110W charger with a dual coil design for both vertical and horizontal charging. The station uses a fan at the base to improve heat dissipation.

Along with the obvious wired and wireless charging, the standard also supports reverse charging, bypass charging and multi-protocol charging. It is compatible with other protocols, including Power Delivery 3.0.
The company has confirmed that the new technology is coming in an upcoming Infinix Note smartphone this year, so we should see it in action very soon.
