The summarized components inside the iPhone 15 Pro Max are estimated to cost $558, a 12% increase over the iPhone 14 Pro Max. As expected, most components inside the 15 Pro Max, aside from the NAND flash memory, are more expensive than last year’s 14 Pro Max. The new titanium frame, 5x tetraprism zoom camera and A17 Pro chipset are the main cost drivers. The updated 5x telephoto module is estimated to cost $30, a hefty 280% increase over the 3x telephoto module on the 14 Pro Max.

The 15 Pro Max’s titanium frame is estimated to cost $50, which is a 43% increase over the stainless steel frame of last year’s model. The new A17 Pro chipset is estimated to cost $130 while the display will come in at $115, with increases of 27% and 10% respectively.

As for the rest of the iPhone 15 lineup, Nikkei estimates the cost of components for the 15 Pro at $523, an 8% margin over the 14 Pro while the iPhone 15 Plus ($442) and the Base iPhone 15 ($423) are 10% and 16% more expensive components respectively.
