OnePlus launched the OnePlus Ace in China last April, and today the company unveiled its successor, dubbed the OnePlus Ace 2.

The OnePlus Ace 2 is powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC and runs ColorOS 13 based on Android 13. It comes with up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB UFS 3.1 storage, but lacks a card slot microSD for storage expansion.

The OnePlus Ace 2 is built around a 6.74″ 2,772×1,240 pixel AMOLED screen with an adaptive refresh rate of 120Hz (40Hz-120Hz). The display has a maximum brightness of 1,450 nits with support for 1.07 billion of colors and HDR10+.The screen is protected by Asahi Glass and has a centered hole for the 16 MP selfie camera.There is also a fingerprint reader underneath for biometric authentication.

The Ace 2’s back panel resembles that of the OnePlus 11. It uses “exclusive silk glass technology” and is protected by Gorilla Glass 5, with the triple camera setup consisting of 50MP primary (with OIS), 8MP ultrawide (120°) and 2 MP Macro Unit.

The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 powered smartphone features an alert slider and has an eight-channel vapor chamber cooling area of ​​5,177mm² for sustained performance. It also features 12 antennas that provide 360° coverage for stable and fast network connectivity.

The smartphone is equipped with the HyperBoost 2.0 game frame stabilization engine to ensure a stable frame rate while playing games. OnePlus claims the Ace 2 can run over 100 games at 120 FPS, but we don’t have the full list yet.

Powering the whole package is a 5,000mAh battery, advertised to go from 1% to 100% in 25 minutes with the bundled 100W SuperVOOC adapter. OnePlus claims that the cell’s effective battery life will be more than 80% after 1,600 discharge cycles, achieved with the help of the SuperVOOC S power management chip.

The rest of the highlights of the OnePlus Ace 2 include IR Blaster, USB-C, NFC and 5G connectivity. It also comes with dual speakers and Dolby Atmos.

The OnePlus Ace 2 is offered in blue and black colors and has three memory options: 12GB/256GB, 16GB/512GB and 16GB/512GB priced at CNY 2,799, CNY 3,099 and CNY 3,499 respectively. The Ace 2 is available for pre-orders in China via the company’s official Chinese website, with sales slated to start on February 13th.

In addition to Ace 2, OnePlus also launched Buds Ace TWS earphones. These are aimed at mobile gamers and audiovisual enthusiasts and each bud packs a 12.4mm titanium plated diaphragm.

OnePlus Buds Ace is equipped with BassWave EQ, which intelligently analyzes the sound source and dynamically compensates for some weak low-frequency sound sources. The TWS earbuds also have three audio presets: Balanced (default), Crisp and Clear, but you also have the option to customize the EQ to your liking if you like.

In addition, OnePlus Buds Ace comes with exclusive PEL Stadium HD sound effects for Peace Elite game for an enhanced gaming experience. OnePlus also advertises 47ms latency via Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity as one of the features for gamers.

The rest of the highlights of the OnePlus Buds Ace include touch controls, active noise cancellation (ANC) and an IP55 rating. Each bud contains a 41mAh battery, while the charging case has a 480mAh cell. OnePlus advertises up to 7 hours of music playback with AAC codec, volume at 50% and ANC off, which goes up to 36 hours when paired with the charging case. With ANC turned on, the total music playing time is reduced to 5 hours and 27 hours respectively.

Speaking of audio calls, OnePlus claims that the Buds Ace will offer up to 4 hours of battery life with AAC codec, volume at 50% and ANC off, which can be extended up to 19 hours with the charging case. With ANC enabled, you get up to 3.5 hours of battery life, which can go up to 17 hours with the charging case.

Once the earbuds have run out of charge, a quick 10-minute charge should give you 5 hours of playtime.

The OnePlus Buds Ace TWS earphones are available in black and white colors and are priced at CNY249. Sales will start on February 13 in China, but it is already possible to pre-order a pair via the company’s official Chinese website.
