Introduction and specifications
The release of the Realme 9 series earlier this year was met with mixed feelings, even from fans of the brand and maybe that’s why Realme was in a hurry to release the next generation to right some wrongs. And as it turns out, the Realme 10 Pro may very well have a better chance of winning some new fans.
Essentially, the Realme 10 Pro offers a somewhat minimal upgrade over its predecessor, but a deeper look at the specs suggests otherwise. The new model updates the display, completely changes the design and shares a higher-level main camera with its more expensive sibling: Realme 10 Pro+. That last part is a big deal as the 10 Pro now employs a fairly large 108MP, 1/1.67-inch sensor coupled with a large f/1.8 aperture. It’s a big step up from the 1/1.67-inch sensor. 64 MP of the 9 Pro.

Of course, this comes at a price, and that’s the exclusion of a macro and an ultrawide camera. However, we don’t think this is a major omission as the usual 8MP ultrawide and 2MP macro cameras in this price range don’t provide significant value to the overall user experience.

The Realme 10 Pro also packs the same 5,000mAh battery, selfie camera and display size as the 10 Pro+ and tops it off with a much desired microSD card slot. One of the few reasons to opt for the more expensive Plus variant is to get the OLED display. Unfortunately, just like its predecessor, the 10 Pro makes do with an IPS LCD panel.
On the other hand, the new Realme promises better overall image quality, higher maximum brightness and a larger diagonal. So it’s not as if Realme hasn’t tried to fit a high-quality LCD into the already limited budget.

All in all, the Realme 10 Pro sounds like a solid $300 midranger with a focus on photography. Let’s dive deep into this review and evaluate the much-hyped camera capabilities of the handset, among other things.
