A report obtained from The Elec confirms the alleged titanium chassis of the Galaxy S24 Ultra. Samsung is in the final stage of securing its titanium orders. The Korean tech giant is working with Chinese suppliers and a local manufacturer.

Apparently, Samsung started researching titanium about two years ago, but the decision to implement it only came recently, perhaps due to pressure from Apple with the iPhone 15 Pro series. If reception is good, Samsung plans to use titanium in multiple devices.
The titanium frame offers numerous advantages: it is lighter than steel and harder than aluminum, serving as a nice middle ground between the two. However, due to its low thermal conductivity, it is more difficult to cut and machine in general. That’s why Samsung seeks high yield, otherwise it would cost four times more than current aluminum frames, which themselves cost around $20 at the moment.
The weight reduction won’t be all that dramatic, as people familiar with the matter say Samsung is already using a lightweight aluminum alloy.
The overall order for the titanium frames is 15 million units, which is about the number of Galaxy S24 Ultra phones Samsung plans to produce. There are also 15 million orders for the Galaxy S23 Ultra.
