In August, Spotify announced a price increase for Premium users in the South Asia, Middle East, Africa, Europe, Latin America and Asia-Pacific markets. We now know that the Sweden-based music streaming company is preparing to raise subscription prices in the United States as well.

Citing three people familiar with the matter, the Financial times reports that Spotify is preparing to raise subscription prices in the US in the first quarter of 2026 in an effort to demonstrate sustained profitability.

The publication also highlights the pressure on Spotify (and other music streaming services) from major record labels to increase prices to keep up with inflation.

It’s worth noting that Spotify’s last price increase in the US occurred in June 2024, and the premium plan for an individual currently costs $11.99 per month.
