Tecno wants you to know that it’s serious about innovation. After previewing a vertically retractable camera in a smartphone, it now showcases a roll-up sliding screen phone.

Introducing the Tecno Phantom Vision V, the device that aims to mark the death of tablets, but still fits in your pocket. It folds down to the size of an almost regular smartphone, but can expand to fit a medium-sized tablet if needed.

Tecno shows the folding Phantom Vision V concept with a twist

The Tecno Phantom Vision V starts out like a regular foldable when folded, well mostly. It has a display on the front, while on the back it has a triple camera. Tecno has added a small display on the back, which it calls a reverse back cover. It will display notifications, reminders, and an always-on display-style clock.

Open the Vision V, revealing a larger internal display, similar to the Galaxy Z Fold4, Xiaomi Mix Fold2 or vivo X Fold+. But the Techno Phantom Vision V concept can also further expand its internal display by extending it up to 10.1 inches.

The display is made up of 11 functional layers, which give it flexibility and durability. The case is made from “aerospace” titanium, so it’s also very durable.
