vivo unveiled a new phone today and its first launch is in Indonesia. We are talking about the Y36, which succeeds the Y35 from last August. The model was intriguingly announced in two variants: one 4G, one 5G, although so far only the former has been listed on its official website for Indonesia.
The only differences between the two are the chipset used and the names of the colors in which they will be offered: the 4G model gets Snapdragon 680 and Glitter Aqua and Meteor Black, while the 5G iteration arrives with MediaTek’s Dimensity 6020 in Crystal Green and Mystic Black. Otherwise, the specs are the same.

We’re talking about a 6.64-inch “Ultra O” LCD screen with 1080×2388 resolution, a 50MP main camera alongside a 2MP depth sensor, a 16MP selfie camera, 8GB of RAM, 256GB of expandable storage and a 5,000mAh battery with support for 44W wired charging. The phones run Android 13 with vivo’s Funtouch OS 13 on top. The dimensions are 164.06 x 76.17 x 8.07 mm, while the weight is 202 g.

The Y36 4G has a suggested retail price of IDR 3,399,000, which amounts to approximately $226 or €211 at current exchange rates. It’s not yet clear how much the 5G version will cost or when they’ll hit other markets.
