Sony has scheduled a live event for tomorrow, May 19 at 16:00 UTC, dedicated to its upcoming WH-1000X flagship headphone series. The previous generation WH-1000XM6 was launched about a year ago, but this won’t be a direct successor.
Rumors so far indicate that the new headphones will actually be more premium, meaning they won’t replace the XM6 but will coexist alongside them.
Reports claim a price of $649, which is a bit more expensive than the usual WH-1000X headphones, and a new leather design. We’ll likely see a new name for the upcoming headphones dubbed ColleXion.
Of course, aside from the updated design, ColleXion will likely introduce a new set of premium features and better hardware. After all, Sony cares a lot about these new headphones and it’s no coincidence that it dedicated an entire event to its new line of flagship headphones.
