The Xiaomi 13T Pro is here and it is a big improvement over its predecessor in every aspect that matters.

At the front there is a 6.67-inch AMOLED ready for 144 Hz with a peak brightness of 2,600 nits. Inside is a 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ chip with an Arm Immortalis-G715 GPU and 12GB or 16GB of RAM.

The 13T Pro increases protection against the elements from its predecessor’s nearly non-existent IP53 to the formidable IP68.

The cameras are better too. The main unit shrinks from 200MP to 50MP, but you get larger clustered pixels at 2.44µm and even the ability to capture 10-bit LOG video with LUT support.

The biggest improvement is the addition of a dedicated, albeit modest 50mm, zoom camera. There’s also a 15mm ultrawide camera.

The T-Series Ace comes with a carrying case, USB cable, and a 120W charger, matching its predecessor’s claim of 19 minutes at 100%. The battery itself is a 5,000mAh unit which Xiaomi says will give you 17 hours of video playback.

You can get the Xiaomi 13T Pro in three colors: Alpine Blue, Meadow Green, and Black. Ours is the blue one and has lovely Xiaomi BioComfort vegan leather on the glass back. Xiaomi appears to have softer vegan leather than its rivals and the 13T Pro is no exception.

We also have the Xiaomi 13T in the office (which we will unpack shortly). It’s the same size as the Pro but comes with some downgrades to keep the price lower. The display, battery, IP68 rating and cameras are all the same. But the non-Pro model has slower 67W charging and a 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 8200 with 8GB or 12GB of RAM.
