The trio of Leica-branded Xiaomi 12S smartphones were at the forefront of today’s event, but Xiaomi also unveiled its first Pro Mi Band and a pair of high-end Intel Evo laptops with OLED touchscreens.

The Pro model straddles the line between smart band and smartwatch. It has a 1.64 “display, which is wider horizontally than the Mi Band 7 display. It is also larger than the 1.47” display in the Redmi Smart Band 7 Pro.

The AMOLED display of Xiaomi Mi Band 7 Pro has a “retina level” pixel density of 326ppi. The extra surface offers more space to view health data and notifications. It has a resolution of 280 x 456px, compared to 192 x 490px on the regular Mi Band 7 (16: 9 vs 25.5: 10) and 320 x 360px on the Redmi Band 7 Pro.

The other key advantage of the Pro is the integrated GPS receiver. In fact, it supports GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, Beidou and QZSS.

Returning to the display, another improvement over the vanilla band is the ambient light sensor, which enables automatic brightness. Always On Display mode is also available. Xiaomi has also designed over 180 new watch faces for the new strap.

Further customizations are available through a rainbow of wrist straps. There are 6 classic colors to choose from, costing CNY 39 ($ 7.3 / € 7), plus two special options with a leather texture: Van Gogh Green and Monet Gray (both CNY 59 or $ 8.8 / € 8.4).

Mi Band 7 Pro has all-day heart rate and blood oxygen monitoring. It will sound if it detects that SpO2 levels are too low. Advanced sleep tracking is also available, which tracks the three stages: light, deep and REM sleep.

The band has 117 training modes, including 10 running courses. These include interval running courses for a couple of skill levels, moderate intensity interval training (MIIT), aerobic endurance training, and more. You can challenge your friends to play while staying healthy by winning medals for daily steps taken, calories burned or other readings.

Additionally, the strap is rated for 5 ATM water resistance, so you can take it swimming in the pool. With a 235mAh battery, the band should last 12 days of regular use or 6 days of heavy use, charging time is around an hour.

The Xiaomi Mi Band 7 Pro is on sale today in China and will cost CNY 380 until Thursday. Thereafter it will rise to its usual price of CNY 400 ($ 60 / € 57 / ₹ 4,700). Note that the band is equipped with NFC (there is no version without it). Xiaomi did not mention if and when the band will be available globally.

Xiaomi presented a high-end laptop available in two sizes: 14 “and 16”. Both are equipped with high-resolution OLED touchscreens, slim CNC-machined bodies, Intel processors, and an Intel Evo certification, reserved only for the best ultrabooks.

The laptops have E4 OLED displays that use 3D LUTs created by Xiaomi to achieve perfect color calibration (delta and about 0.33 for the 16 “model, 0.43 for the 14” model). These are 10-bit panels with 100% coverage of the sRGB and DCI-P3 color spaces and Dolby Vision support. The panels are protected by Gorilla Glass 3.

The 16 “model has a 4K resolution (283ppi) and a VESA DisplayHDR 400 certification (peak brightness is 600 nits). The 14” model has a resolution of 2.8K (242ppi) and a DisplayHDR 500 certification. Both displays have a 16:10 aspect ratio and 90% screen-to-body ratio.

Xiaomi Book Pro 2022

Xiaomi Book Pro 2022 is available in four configurations. The 16-inch base model has a 12th generation Intel Core i5 and starts at CNY 6,500 ($ 970 / € 930 / ₹ 76,700). The base 14-inch model also comes with an i6 and will cost CNY 5,900 ($ 880 / € 845 / ₹ 69,500).

If you need more processing power, there is also a 16 “laptop with an Intel Core i7-1260P and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2050 for CNY 8,500. The 14” model has two GPU versions: i5 + MX550 (CNY 6,500) and i7 + RTX 2050 (CNY 8,000). The laptops can be pre-ordered in China today through several online retailers.

The i7-1260P is a 12-core, 16-thread (4-performance, 8-core efficiency) processor based on the Intel 7 process. It features 18 MB of L3 cache and a maximum turbo frequency of 4.7 GHz. dual cooling fans with heat pipes that allow the processor to go up to 50W TDP.

Intel processors are paired with 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM (5,200 MHz, dual channel) and 512 GB PCIe 4.0 SSD. They come with Windows 11 pre-installed and support gestures on the glass trackpad (which uses a linear X-axis motor for haptic feedback). The backlit keyboard has 1.3mm key travel.

The 16-inch laptop weighs 1.8 kg and has a 70 Wh battery, which is enough for up to 12 hours of use. The 14-inch model weighs 1.5 kg. Both laptops support 100W charging via USB-C (Power Delivery 3.0) using a GaN adapter. The bodies measure 14.9 mm (0.59 “) thick and are made from aircraft grade aluminum alloy, which has been sandblasted for a smooth finish.
