I installed the game again had to make a new character but it worked this time

Is there a way to trick apps into thinking you updated it? I tried apk editor pro and changing the version and version code in the manifest, and then tried searching all files for the outdated version to change it, but didn't find anything. But, everytime I try to login it still says the old version and wants me to update still.. tips? Hints? Thanks. XoXo
