Huawei has introduced the Watch Ultimate, complete with 10ATM water resistance, which is 100m depth for deep diving. It’s also the largest, toughest, and most durable Huawei wearable to date, and we’ve got it along for a review.
Our unit came with two bands in the box: a blue one which is a new type of hydrogenated nitrile rubber. It’s said to be more durable and pick up less dirt, but we’ll see if it makes any difference to the classic rubber or fluoroelastomer straps on previous Huawei Watch products. There is also a metal band with a butterfly clasp for a more elegant look.
The 1.5-inch AMOLED LTPO screen supports a low refresh rate which should improve battery life. Furthermore, Huawei has packed a massive 530mAh cell inside, promising up to 14 days of battery life on a single charge for regular users and more than a week for heavy users.
Some of the new Watch Ultimate features include Expedition Mode and a more detailed Diving Mode. There’s also a third button on the top left, a first for a Huawei Watch, which should offer more functionality for active users.
