I am new to modding and I am clueless on how to make in-app purchases free could anyone walk me through the process

You need to download Luckypatcher or SB Patcher . Make sure its from the legit site.

Once fully installed, open LuckyPatcher or SB Patcher and click on the app you want to mod.

Click "Menu of Patches" then
"Created Modified apk file" and then
"Apk rebuilt for InApp and lvl emulation" then
"Rebuild the app" after that its gonna work its magic and after its done,
press "Go to file" then "Uninstall and install".

hmm, I try that and it doesn't work. I think I need to try SB Patcher . Didn't work with Luckypatcher for me.

Not all apps work. Specially online and server sided apps. Offline apps have more chances of working but not 100%

@JamHardd when I use SB Patcher nothing shows up it's just black

You need to give it permission to storage for the apps to gets scaned and to show up. If the issues persist try asking the moderators for a solution.
