Stepping into the robes of Master Bao in this game has been an engrossing experience. I genuinely feel the weight of responsibility that comes with being both a wise judge and a meticulous prison warden.
The dual nature of the gameplay is what truly shines. One moment, I'm deep in the courtroom, sifting through clues to unravel a complex ancient mystery—it’s incredibly satisfying to finally piece together the truth and deliver a correct, prestigious judgment. The faster I solve cases, the quicker I feel myself rising through the court ranks, which provides a great sense of progression.
Then, the focus shifts to the more tactical side: prison management. Building and upgrading the facilities—from improving the cell blocks for the inmates to enhancing the guard quarters—is a compelling simulation. It’s not just about construction, though. I have to constantly balance resources and order, especially when utilizing the various punishment tools for discipline or, more critically, when a sudden riot erupts and I have to swiftly quell the violence. Maintaining that order while aspiring for 'successful rehabilitation' is a fascinating, if sometimes challenging, tightrope walk.
The 3D ancient-styled graphics are charming and do a fantastic job of immersing me in the historical setting, complete with rich animations and a nice dynamic day-night cycle.
