Say hello to the new Moto G series phones: Motorola just launched four G phones (and one E phone), two of which we’ll cover here, the lower-end models are in a separate post. This means that here we will see Moto G73 and G53.

A lot has changed from the Moto G72 and G52. To begin with, both new models support 5G connectivity. Although there are some changes that you may not like. Let’s take a closer look.

Moto G73

The Motorola Moto G73 comes with MediaTek’s Dimensity 930. This chipset runs its CPU at lower clocks than the Dimension 920 and the GPU is different (an Imagination design rather than Mali). However, the chip carries a sub-6GHz 5G modem and that’s a big upgrade over the Moto G72 (whose Helio G99 chipset also used the older generation technology).

The phone runs Android 13 out of the box with minor My UX tweaks. There’s only one configuration right now that has 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage (which is expandable, more on that in a bit).

Motorola replaced last year’s model’s P-OLED display with a 6.5-inch IPS LCD, again running at 120Hz and the same 1,080 x 2,400 px (20:9) resolution.
