Samsung received a record amount of pre-bookings in India for the Galaxy Z Fold5 and Galaxy Z Flip5 foldable smartphones it announced on July 26. Over 100,000 pre-bookings in the first 28 hours, to be exact.
Now, to show these folks some love, the company has decided to start advance deliveries of pre-booked units. From today, people who have pre-booked will start receiving theirs. Full official in-store availability will only come on August 18, so that means early adopters, shall we say, will actually be able to play with their new phones before anyone else can buy one.
This is a nice gesture from Samsung, a company that seems a little surprised by the amount of positive attention its latest foldable duo has received in India. This is especially interesting considering the fact that the starting price for the Flip5 is INR 99,999, while the Fold5 starts at INR 154,999. These are definitely not cheap.
