No founder Carl Pei teased Nothing OS 1.5.0 based on Android 13 for Nothing Phone (1) a few days ago but did not reveal any timeframe for the stable update to roll out. However, Nothing has released a new software update (Nothing OS 1.1.7) for its first smartphone with some improvements, bug fixes and better AirPods support.
The new update weighs in at around 80MB and allows Nothing Phone (1) users to view the battery percentage of Apple AirPods. It is an experimental feature, which can be enabled by accessing the smartphone Settings > Experimental features menu.

Nothing OS 1.1.7 also improves OS fluency and audio quality when recording video. It also raises the Android security patch level on Nothing Phone (1) to October/November 2022. The changelog also mentions general bug fixes and a fix for an issue that caused WhatsApp notifications on the WhatsApp screen to become unresponsive smartphone lock.

If you have not yet received the Nothing OS 1.1.7 update, you can check it manually by accessing Nothing Phone (1) Settings > System > System Updates menu.
