Huawei held a product launch event in China today where we got the new Mate 60 RS Ultimate Design edition along with a new tablet called MatePad Pro 13.2. As the name suggests, this tablet features a large 13.2-inch OLED display with 1920 x 2880 px resolution and a 144 Hz refresh rate. The panel features a 3:2 aspect ratio and peak brightness of up to 1,000 nits.
There is a 16MP front camera housed inside a 16MP notch on the horizontal side. The screen features impressively thin bezels. MatePad Pro 13.2 houses a total of six speakers and four microphones for optimal voice reception during calls.
The slate is only 5.5 mm thick and weighs 580 grams. The back features a brocade fiber design and a circular camera island with a 13MP primary camera and an 8MP ultrawide sensor.
Huawei has not listed the chipset used on the MatePad Pro 13.2, although speculation suggests that it features the same Kirin 9000 chipset used in the Mate 60 series. The tablet is available in a Wi-Fi-only version with 12/16 GB of RAM and 256/512/1TB storage.
The software side is covered by HarmonyOS 4 and the tablet is also equipped with a 10,100 battery with 88W wired fast charging. Huawei presents a new third generation M-Pencil stylus and a new Huawei Smart Magnetic keyboard, both sold separately.
MatePad Pro 13.2 is available in green, black and white. Prices in China start at CNY 5,199 ($711) for the 12/256 GB version and go up to CNY 6,999 ($957) for the 16 GB/1 TB version.
