Poco’s entry-level C line is preparing to welcome a new member in the form of the Poco C55. Poco’s official Twitter account for India started teasing the upcoming device today, promising, as you can see, that it offers “Speed and swag.”
Now sure, that might just sound like ordinary marketing talk, but it’s a little more than that. “Avoid cases”? “Good-looking”?

As it turns out, these two things are related to the design of the back of the phone, which the short teaser video above actually alludes to. We know this because a prolific leakster has shared the image which you can see below, which shows the Poco C55 will have a faux leather look, with fake stitching running through the center, vertically.
I absolutely adore the colors and finishes that POCO has recently chosen for their products. Here’s your first look at the upcoming C-series budget smartphone.
With these pastel colors, it clearly looks like they are targeting the GenZ audience.

There’s a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor housed in the massive black island at the top, flanked on the right by a large Poco logo and on the left by a dual camera system. Between these cameras is a circle for the LED flash and another circle that says “AI.”
As the model name suggests, the Poco C55 is supposed to be the successor to the Poco C50. But that can’t be, since the C50 was just unveiled last month. So we’re assuming it’s a higher spec device than that, while still falling into the entry-level category.
The camera island design looks suspiciously similar to that of the Redmi 12C, so it could be that the Poco C55 is nothing more than a rebranded version of that model. If so, it will have a 6.71-inch 720×1650 LCD touchscreen, the MediaTek Helio G85 SoC, 4/6GB RAM, 64/128GB storage, a 50MP rear camera alongside a 0.08MP, a 5MP selfie snapper sensor, and a 5,000mAh battery with support for 10W wired charging.
Compared to the Poco C50, the C55 would therefore have a larger display, a better chipset, more RAM and storage, and a higher resolution main camera.
